A whole lotta family lovin' going on...

Yep, for the first time in four years, my entire family will be reunited. Four years ago, there were 16 of us; now there are 20. Carl and family from Houston are coming for a visit this weekend. That means there will be a lot of family togetherness going on.

This evening begins the fun: we're invited over to my parents after 7 pm to see Carl and son Miles. Carl's wife, Claire will be arriving tomorrow.

Tomorrow morning, I run a 5K with my Eric, Carl and our 12-year old nephew Nick. I am pretty sure I will start the race with the boys, but will be about ten minutes behind them at the finish. That's just fine by me.

Saturday evening, it's the Iverson Family Singers leading the music at Mass. Two nephews are alter boys. The non-singing sibling, Carl will be the lector. We then have dinner at Jeanine's house.

Sunday is my parents' 45th wedding anniversary. Amazing! We will be having a (hopefully) quiet dinner at the parents' house. It will be a collaborative effort. My contribution? I am in charge of providing the kids' meal for 8 kids ranging from 22 months to 13 years' old. Hmm, what to make...

I hope your weekend plans are a little less involved than ours are. Or on the flipside, I hope it's just as fulfilling. I'd like to hear what you've got planned, so drop a comment.

Have a good one!

Hi Jen and Kyle. It sounds like you are having a good weekend. I am sorry things were such a mess and so scary - hospital visit. This is the first I heard of it. Good luck-DM is such a horrible disease-either I or II.

Mom and I just got back from the cities and New Ulm-we took Angel to meet up with her father and to stay with him for the next 8 wks so sad for me! We also dropped Delaney and Taylor off at the bus depot so they could return to Michigan.

Thank Goodness a quiet week for me! Mary Cullen

This is probably my last weekend playing softball for USA Today after 13 seasons. Cate and the kids usually come once a year, when we play on the second day of the league tournament, which we've won two years in a row. However, we're likely to miss the playoffs this year as we're 5-7, so they're coming out this weekend.

I'll be sporting the old Baseball Weekly jersey, which is now far too big for me, as one final tribute to the job where I grew up.

Saturday afternoon, back to the grind of house touching up and packing, and Cate works on Sunday so it'll be my attempts to survive three children and still get some packing done.

Sounds like quite a weekend! I'm in a marathon of another sort, preparing for 40 guests for my son's birthday party on Sunday. Luckily I have Monday off to recover.

Have lots of fun!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend with the family and good luck on the 5K!! You go girl!

It's going to be quiet for us. Jeff has gigs both tonight and tomorrow, both far away. Looking forward to July 25th :-) On Sunday, an old friend from the JCP days (we went through Mgmt training at the same time) will be in town and we will get to visit for awhile. And a WW meeting :-)

Talk soon-
Shayna

Congrats on the 5K, what an amazing achievement even if it is your 4th. Please give your family hugs & kisses from me. Tell your parents Happy Anniversary, was it their 40th Anniversary we celebrated at the Bassetts? That was fun, wish I could be your bartender on Sunday????
