Garden progress

This spring, aside from our usual annual planting and perennial transplanting, we decided to add some produce to our garden. To make it even more family-friendly, we let the kids choose which fruit or vegetable they would like to plant and care for. Max chose cantaloupe and Cate chose cauliflower after we couldn't find any broccoli. Kyle and I ordered bell and jalapeƱo pepper plants from Cate's school plant sale.

The crop is looking good thus far into the season. We have fruit or flower on all plants already. We're very excited and getting impatient for harvest time.

The first great Spring day of the year

It finally, FINALLY surpassed 60 degrees today. In fact, the high was 67. Sweet! So it was time to let the kids roam free in the backyard. I got the kickball for Cate and the two kids ran around playing quite nicely together. Kyle and I just sat on the stoop and occasionally bounced the ball back to them. A great way to ensure they sleep well at night.
