Who, in their right mind, schedules a training on Monday, September 8th at the same time the Minnesota Vikings open their regular season against Green Bay at Packer Stadium? Apparently our pastor does. He's not from around these parts (he's formerly from the Diocese of Arlington), so he just doesn't understand.

Our parish council, with me acting as chair, is also meeting on Monday, 8 Sep, despite the protest of a couple of members who happen to be Viking fans. When the majority of the council agreed that it had to be the 8th, one of the fans asked if we could more it ahead to 6:30, which, being collegial (it's early in the ecclisiastical year), we agreed to. Moral of the story: Make sure your parish council members are all fans of the same sports. [Aside note: since several are not baseball fans, there are three of us that are White Sox fans, so look to us to schedule meetings in the play offs if the Twinks beat out the Sox.]
