I predicted they would go 12-4, but boy am I now disappointed with that potential finish given the phenomenal performance they had at the beginning of the season and the embarrassing showings in thier last three primetime appearances.

Where'd all the money go?
Oh yes, to:
*the couple of Target runs for Target Clinic and prescriptions
*candy coffee everyday
*lunches and dinners
*Halloween costumes and treats
*back to Target again for new clothes because everything else falls in one of two buckets:
1) everything is dirty or
2) nothing fits
*fill the gas tank because of the multiple Target runs
*birthday festivities and the many indulgences such as:
1) a day-trip to Duluth
2) buying birthday gifts for other October babies and buying a $17 doodle book for patient little 6-y/o shopping companion
3) a massage
4) dinner, drinks and dessert
5) a new scarf
6) going to a movie (with popcorn and soda, thankyouverymuch)
Hmm, yeah. Not cool.

What a week for Cate
This week has had its ups and downs for Cate.
She's been out of school all week on top of the almost two days she was out last week with pneumonia and a fever that just wouldn't break.

She lost her first tooth. The tooth fairy was good to her.

Her fever finally went away, but there's no school today. We'll do something special together for sure. It's been a long week stuck at home for the little girl.

Comparisons to Kirstie Alley
Hearken to the days when "Cheers" was not syndicated yet. People who first met me told me I resembled Kirstie Alley. Tall, skinny Kirstie Alley mind you; with no neck, beautiful lips, long, gorgeous hair, the over-the-top hand gestures, the whiny voice, and stomp-stomp-stomping out of scenes because Sam Malone has irritated her to no end. Back then, I didn't mind being called out as resembling Kirstie Alley.
These days I mind.
But like her, and like millions of people, I struggle with my weight. I worked hard to lose almost 50 pounds in 7 months. It's almost all back. Just short of two years later. I just knew when I started Weight Watchers that I could lose all the weight. I was never confident I would embrace the entire lifestyle change necessary to make it stick. Same song and dance as everyone else, so no need to feel sorry for me or give me a pep talk. I get it.
So here I am, back to square 1.2. And not sure if I'm going to do anything about it.
But, just so you know, I'm back to big. In case you see me.

Master Procrastinator
Yep, that accurately describes me. It's review time at work. I love, Love, LOVE review time. Seriously. No snickering on the other side of the computer, thankyouverymuch.
However, I have put off my review writing WAY too long. And I think I know why.
This year, a new added twist was thrown in. I'm not sure if this was the year to add the new element to the review process. You know, like most companies, we will have no merit increase, our 401K match is suspended and any bonus that we were eligible for if we hit any of our numbers is completely dashed away. So too, promotions seem to be suspended in the short-term for my team members who are looking to move upwards in the company. It seems that our experience is not satisfactory. Yet, despite RIFs as recent as January (that were not performance based if you recall), upper management has recently announced four new team members in Buyer, Director and VP levels that all have the magical QVC experience. Me: not bitter. Really.
Back to the new twist. This year, the new twist in the process was, get this--in addition to writing our self-review, we had to submit 3 - 5 team members to provide 360 degree feedback. For me, the writer, this ends up equating to one self-review on horrific numbers and nine 360-degree feedback forms.
Try telling my team members why this year, more than any other year, it's especially important to submit a good review and fully participate in the 360 feedback process when all of the above is the frustrating reality.
Guess what? The self-reviews are due today. I have three 360s done, but I haven't even touched my review. Uh-oh. Yet, I am blogging.
It's going to be a long day. But even though I'm down to the wire, I will submit quality stuff. I promise.
